Renata Marallo

Through photography and re-photography, Renata Marallo unearths hypnotic meditations on portraiture and natura morta'. With nods to crime scene photography, snuff films and the paintings of Frances Bacon the work is initially macabre. However, longer investigations reveal a multi-faceted experience drawing lines in the sand between repugnance and elegance with latter carrying the torch.
